About Michelle
Michelle studied Ceramics and Glass at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1994 with BA(Hons) Ceramics and PGDip Ceramic Design.
She works from her studio in rural Stirlingshire where her current sculptural practice explores the nature of growth and fecundity, drawing inspiration from the natural world. Her ceramics are often complex constructions which playfully explore the experience of being alive, of growth and potential contained within the buds seedpods swellings and tendrils of plant-life.
Work is thrown, altered hand-built and carved then multi fired to mid stoneware temperatures in an electric kiln.
