Ceramic sculpture is inspired by the complexity of botanical forms and the textures, colours and patterns found in nature. I use multiple methods to build my sculptures, using wheel thrown and handbuilt components which I stretch, texture and shape into complex structures. Inspiration is fed by a keen interest in macro photography which I use to explore the world of small things, a place where recognisable and often alien looking structures build exquisite worlds of geometry and innovation. I like to think my sculptures express the joy and abundance of life in all its forms, a celebration of our interconnected lifecycles.
